Warnings: Slavery, Speciesism, Oppression

Sebastian was born on Io to his enslaved mother Sheda and the son of the Baroness that owned her, Neil Tavita. Tigrarians have mostly dominant genetics and you would never guess there was any human in Sebastian. He was abandoned in the country-side with the hopes he would be eaten by wolves and forgotten about. What wasn't accounted for was the urchin woman that lived in the woods - a "witch" born of wives tales and urban legend named Gretchin. Gretchin had a series of mishaps that ended in her losing every child she ever bore due to her wicked warlock ways and resorted to kidnapping little kids who didn't do their chores.
Gretchin, however, was very real. Though she did not kidnap children, the unwanted child or two did manage to find their way into her territory. The idea was if they gave her children that were unwanted she might spare those that were. She would care for these children until they were spry and curious pre-teens before setting them off on their own.
It was not quite harmonious, however. Sebastian had a mischievous streak in him and would often take or hide things for the fun of it. Eventually he would start coming home with things that didn't belong to him. Instead of correcting this behavior, Gretchin saw an opportunity. She actively worked with him on such talents as sleight of hand and misdirection. Eventually, he became good at it. No. Great.
When Sebastian was around 12 he left Gretchin behind to find proper adventure and fell in with the crew of the Raiders 88.
At first, the crew sought to take advantage of him, but they were unprepared for how clever this Tigrarian truly was. It wasn't until a job went bad and Sebastian went out of his way to protect his crewmates that the Captain put it to a vote to make Sebastian a permanent crew member with his own quarters and a fair cut of their jobs. It was almost unanimous. All but one.
Over the next 5 years, the Raiders 88 taught Sebastian how to fight, how to steal, how to lie and cheat at cards, fly a space-faring vessel and handle a laser pistol.

Sebastian opened his gallery in Capitta, displaying many of his own works as well as those who were shunned behind stigma and speciesism. Art had become his life. Everything from canvas to clay, he had quite the imagination - but it was still not enough. The money, the recognition.. It would never be enough. He was missing the excitement and the adrenaline of thievery, the reactions of countless women he's swooned despite his fur. There were so many glass ceilings to break and so many neat trinkets to collect! But how? He was somewhat well-known, now. He couldn't be a pirate and a successful artist at the same time! Or could he? What if he took something and no one ever knew it was gone? He could replace it with an identical copy he himself made then use his underground connections in the art world to fence anything he stole.
It wasn't about the money, though. He just wanted to have fun.

Tigrarians are found entirely on Los Duplicatta in the Jadmus Cluster. A heavily arid planet with a lot of hostile flora. Tigrarians are believed to be a brachial evolution from some of the local wildlife and while most are still feral there were plenty that began to show signs of neanderthalism; forming tribes, crafting tools and establishing society.
The environment of Los Duplicatta contributed to their evolution a light weight and sturdy skeletal structure made largely of Cesium-Carbon as well as a robust immune system that is highly resistant to toxins and poisons. They are greedily sought-after by trophy hunters, slavers and manufacturers alike for their exotic appearance, unmatched stamina, natural immunities, pelts and chemical composition.
Tigrarians come with a hefty stigma. While their presence in claimed space is growing, they are still looked down upon as a sub-species and unworthy of respect or acknowledgement. They're valuable to manufacturers, so if your Tigrarian is unguarded, they may be killed on the spot by poachers and carted off for the "recycling bounty". As it stands, they are currently not a recognized species with any rights what-so-ever.
Thanks to Sebastian, there's been a growing movement in Capitta to grant States Rights to Tigrarians which would at least afford them basic dignities.
