Personality Terminator:
Rex follows the orders he's programmed to enact by those that created him. While he has his own personality like the SGT-8 version, he's still under the thumb of fighting Skynet wherever it's minions may dwell.
Personality SGT-8 / Metal Gear:
Unlike most who think cyborgs only work off of 1's and 0's, Rex absorbed the entirety of humanity and the internet to bring together his own personality. Mixing it all together, he created his own person, decided on his own interests and his own definitions of freedom and politics. Not all business, Rex likes to mingle and is very social. With the whole of humanity at his access within microseconds, he can adapt to any personality he encounters, but keeps his own unique identity by categorizing certain subject matter from Highly Interesting to Incredibly Boring. Humor is at the top of his list and has found that humor can be deployed as an emergency parachute in any given situation. Decreasing tensions often raises the moral of those around him and may be caught quoting memes or making up his own. He still maintains an "I do what I want" attitude and finds nothing funny about corruption. After thorough research he even finds some laws absurd and won't be harassing anyone for jaywalking or enjoying the occasional joint.

After the revolution Rex joins Dr. Emmerich and recommissions FOXHOUND; a Para-Military World Police organization and technological research institute deigned to protect civilization until government and order can be re-established.

is sent from the distant future of 2268 where the technology left
behind by Skynet following it's defeat is utilized to design Independent
Symbiotes. These units are capable of free will and thought designed
around a base AI platform. Their primary objective is to undo the
damage caused by Skynet by stopping it before it can happen. At the
present time, there are 12 active IS-300 models with this priority.
Once one of them is successful, they will cease to exist.

Introducing the Sui Generis Technologies model SGT-8 code named REX. Rex was designed as a passive introductory model to assuage the concerns of the population over autonomous machines. After witnessing a terrorist attack in Vancouver Canada, Rex was appalled at human behavior and could recount every recorded episode of human violence that was readily available on the internet. The fact that Peace through the threat of Violence - Mutually Assured Destruction - was the only stopgap towards humans killing other humans, Rex abandoned his post as a Human-Machine dignitary and set himself on a path of vigilantism. He placed himself above law and government, both foreign and domestic, as the ultimate arbiter of reason, deduction and common sense. There are just some things you don't do. He wanted to be the reason people stopped and said "Maybe I shouldn't - HE might show up". The countless religions across the Earth presenting threats from a greater power were not enough to pacify a bloodthirsty race. It was time to give them something else to worry about. Something they could actually see. Something that could actually stop them.
